Each year, we honor the bowlers and volunteers whose skill, service, and spirit elevate our community. These awards celebrate the achievements, dedication, and passion that define the heart of bowling.

Superior Performance

Awarded to a bowler who has demonstrated exceptional skill and competitive success in local tournaments, honor scores, and high averages, exemplifying outstanding performance in the sport.

Meritorious Service

Recognizes an individual who has significantly contributed to the advancement of certified bowling through dedicated service, leadership roles, and active involvement in promoting and sustaining the sport within the community.

Presented to a youth bowler (18 or younger) who exemplifies leadership, sportsmanship, academic achievement, and commitment to bowling, supported by a $500 scholarship and plaque.

Temprance McMillen
2025-2026
Star of Tomorrow
Temprance placed second in her division at the Northern Nevada Youth Masters tournament. At the Youth City tournament, she was part of the first-place team and doubles team, and placed second in singles. Her efforts earned her first place in All Events.
Xander Wass
2025-2026
Star of Tomorrow
Xander placed first in doubles and third in singles at the Youth City tournament. His performance also earned him first place in All Events. He additionally placed second in his division at the Super Super Tournament.
Cori Brennan
2025-2026
Female Bowler of the Year
Cori was a member of the first-place team in the Women's Trios tournament and took first place in both scratch and handicap singles. She also placed second in the March Madness doubles tournament.
Drake Dembke
2025-2026
Male Bowler of the Year
Drake bowled a 298 on his way to first place in singles at the Men's Invitational Trios tournament. In the City Open, he placed first in doubles and second in All Events. He also bowled his first 800 series and held a 224 average, the third highest in the association.
Gay Edinger

Love of Bowling
Gay has bowled for more than 30 years and is currently the longest active bowler in her league. She inspires others by showing that at any age, a love for the game keeps you going. She encouraged her community to take up bowling and supported her children and grandchildren, even coaching them when they were younger.
William Forsythe

"Cowboy" Bill's lifelong passion for bowling began in 1966 when he started bowling with his co-workers. His simple philosophy of always having fun has fueled his dedication. For over 35 years as a member of CCUSBC, he has inspired countless others to discover their love for the sport.
Jason Peters

Superior Performance
During the last 19 years, Jason has recorded fifteen 300 games, four 800 series, and five 11-in-a-row awards. He has placed first in seven CCUSBC tournaments and has consistently maintained a 220 average.
Renee Steele
2024-2025
Female Bowler of the Year
Renee was a member of the teams that took first place in the 2024 Women’s City and the Women’s Trios tournaments.
Rico Pura
2024-2025
Male Bowler of the Year
During the last year, Rico has taken first place in the City Open for singles and all events. He was a member of the team that took third place in the Men’s Trios tournaments and first in the 2024 Men’s Invitational.
Donnita Wass
2024-2025
Star of Tomorrow
Donnita was also the only female athlete from Nevada at the 2024 Junior Gold Youth Championships. In addition to her bowling achievements, she is an excellent student and high school athlete.
Jake Ellis-Cronan
2024-2025
Star of Tomorrow
Jake is a huge part in the bowling community with Saturday Morning League, Carson High School bowling team, and the Youth King of the Hill. Jake is a current member of the Carson High ROTC and plans on pursuing a military career.
Shane Shook
2024-2025
Star of Tomorrow
Shane has been a dedicated bowler for the past 10 years, consistently displaying outstanding skill, sportsmanship, and passion for the sport.
Carolyn Kenton
2024-2025
Love of Bowling
Carolyn Kenton began bowling in Yerington in the early 1960s. She recruited siblings and other family members to join bowling. She was a founding member of the Mixed Indian Bowling League, now the Roadrunners League
Fred Drye
2024-2025
Love of Bowling
Fred Drye has been bowling in Carson Country USBC for almost 40 years. He has won the Senior Tournament three times.
Jolly Ramsey
2024-2025
Meritorious Service
Jolly Ramsey has been a volunteer to the local bowling association since before the merger of the men's and women's associations. For more than two decades, she has served Carson Country USBC in a variety of positions, including president, vice-president, director, and association manager.
Meaghan Rhoades
2024-2025
Superior Performance
Meaghan began bowling as a youth in the Tri-County YABA and has continued as an adult. Meaghan has bowled in many state and local tournaments, winning the Reno Queens tournament several times. She holds a lifetime average at USBC Women’s Championship of 189.
Danny Dunbar

Superior Performance
Danny has served CCUSBC as a board member, vice president, and current Tournament Director for 5 years. Additionally, he has coached the Carson City High School youth program for 6 years. Danny is the proprietor of Home Grown Bowl and has bowled in many local and state tournaments.
Colleen Harkins
2021-2022
Female Bowler of the Year
Prior to the annual meeting for the 2021-22 bowling season, Colleen took first place in the CCUSBC Queens tournament, second place in the CCUSBC Open Championship All Events (handicap) and third place with her team in the Open.
Derrick Johnson
2021-2022
Star of Tomorrow
Derrick is the first to volunteer to meet with a new league member and is always willing to help the younger kids. His passion for bowling drives his desire to perform. He leads by example on the lanes, teaching new bowlers’ and encouraging those around him. He maintains a positive attitude, even when struggling, Derrick's sportsmanship and skills have earned him a reputation within the local bowling community and the younger bowlers all look up to him.
Nolan Pedersen
2022-2023
Star of Tomorrow
Nolan joined the bowling 4 years ago, quickly grew roots and began to thrive. In addition to bowling every season with the youth league, he also bowled summer leagues and for Carson High School, where he was elected team captain. He is a positive influence on his bowling peers and often makes motivational reward goals with his teammates. He is coachable, likable and eager to improve. He has a great rapport with coaches and a strong example of sportsmanship. He is a dual-enrolled high school senior and college sophomore who earned his academic letter earlier this year with his strong grades.

What is induction criteria?

The induction criteria include outstanding achievements in bowling, contributions to the sport, and overall impact on the community. Candidates are evaluated based on their performance and dedication. A committee reviews nominations annually to ensure fairness.

How are nominees selected?

Nominees are selected through a nomination process open to members of CCUSBC. A dedicated committee reviews all submissions to ensure they meet the criteria. Final selections are made based on merit and contributions to bowling.

Is there a deadline?

Yes, nominations must be submitted by the specified deadline each year. The deadline for Hall-of-Fame nominations is January 15th of each year.

Can anyone nominate?

Any member in good standing of CCUSBC can nominate a candidate.

What is the process?

The process begins with submitting a nomination form along with supporting materials. The committee reviews all nominations and selects inductees based on established criteria. Inductees are honored at an annual ceremony.
